From humble beginnings, Collins & Stephens grew through the dynamic relationship between Garry Stephens and Chris Mackay. Garry and Chris were in partnership for more than 30 years prior to Garry’s retirement from practice in 2016.

In 1981 Garry and Chris recognised the need for a specialised collections service and established Traders Collection Services. Traders provides firm but fair debt recovery to a range of companies throughout Australia.

Nick Stephens joined the firm in 2003, bringing a wealth of knowledge in commercial litigation and insolvency. Following the completion of his articles with Chris in 2004, Nick has now also shared a professional relationship with Chris spanning almost two decades.

Collins & Stephens has extensive experience in all relevant courts and tribunals, including the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria, County Court, Supreme Court, Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and VCAT.
